I have been using the app for over 1,000 days. The only problem I am experiencing is that the app gave me a random email I can’t access. So, I went to the help page to find out how to change it, but the instructions were confusing. Maybe the company can let users change their email in future app updates?
Lose It! App can help you monitor your calorie intake, nutrition, protein, fat, carbs, sleep, and blood pressure. It's so easy! Log your daily food intake and plan your meals to maximize your weight loss. So far, I've lost 40 lbs. and plan to lose 40 more using this app. Try it!
This has been a great app with a comprehensive database of food information as well as supporting every Apple device I own which is fantastic: Mac, iPad, and iPhone. The only drawback is the way it interacts with Apple Watch and burned calories. This is really why I bought the subscription to this app but the implementation is questionable. With a previous (discontinued) app that I used before this one I loved how the calories left in the day changed in real time to adjust for the calories burned on your Apple Watch. This was of course dependent on your goals, how active you were throughout the day, and any workouts registered on your watch. With this app you can see Apple Watch workouts but there is no visibility on how many calories left based on that crazy workout you just did or the fact that you ate a huge meal. It seems to be just a static read of calories: no adjusting to Apple Watch recorded calories in real time. What a missed opportunity for an otherwise great app.
I canceled my subscription and I continue to get charged! I have contacted them along with Apple multiple times and I’m still being charged!
I paid for the lifetime subscription to get it to stop hounding me. Now I am being forced other ads every time I open it. So annoying it is becoming unusable. What a waste of money.
Have to buy the membership if you’d like to continue using, I wasted 10 minutes answering their questions just to find out I get a trial period! Do t waste your time!
Bought premium but still get ads in the app. Pointless, don’t bother paying
This app has been helpful and I’ve had the free version for years and you could scan items to add. Now they’ve taken that away unless you buy the premium. The app itself isn’t that special and there are tons out there that do the same thing. So when you take things away like scanning unless paying you lose users.
This AI helps me keep track of calories so much easier!
I like the app but the barcode scanner is not working. I’ve tried everything.
I am sad to write this review as a long time Lose It user. I keep getting interstitial ads for glp-1. This should be left to conversations with a health professional and not an ad…especially for an app I paid for. I used to recommend Lose It to everyone and now will not. I don’t want to disillusion friends and family with ozempic ads and quick solutions. Some people need it but the vast majority need to put the work in for weight loss and nutrition before considering medication. When they do consider meds it should be based on clinical recommendation.
This app seems less judgmental. Helps me to be accountable to myself and I like it better than my fitness pal.
I love the app and the program so far. But there’s one thing that would push my rating to 5 stars if it were added. Being able to choose what day my week starts. I weigh in once a week, on Saturday, and it would be nice if my new Lose It week also started on Saturday. This is a great feature in my Weight Watchers app and would be much appreciated here too. I have filled out the feature request form on their website, so hopefully it will be a feature added in one of the upcoming updates. I will happily come back here and change my rating to 5 stars if they add this feature.
I literally never right reviews about apps. Always read them but never post them. I love this app so much I need to share. Pros: *You can do custom calorie schedules (lower cal on the weeks and higher on the weekend) *I think the calorie calculator is superior to other apps I’ve tried in the past. *the premium version is reasonably priced and comes with a food and barcode scanner *you can save your recipes, schedule ahead food, customize macros like fiber and protein *exercises sync with fitness watches. *because my Apple Watch syncs my activity I earn bonus calories on days that I’m more active which is nice. *gives you a running total of your calories for the week so if you have a day that’s over you still see where you stand for a week as a whole (you can also see a month view to see how your doing week over week) *sounds silly but if you forget to finish logging your food you can go back and “finish” the day and keep your streak Cons: *Need more “themes” for your homepage but honestly the fact that they have any in the first place is amazing.
Wow! It's the free apps such as this, [Lose it!], that keep me coming back to the App Store and also reminds me to appreciate my paid apps even more. The features included in this app are above and beyond what one would expect to find in a free app. If you haven't already, download it and check it out. You won't be disappointed. ** To the developers: thank you for updating the app as often as you do in addition to the work you put in. It’s not perfect but who is; it’s the effort the counts. Keep on keeping on! ❤️
Used this app for years. Used to let you scan your foods barcode for free and now you have to pay for a lot of services. Plus tons of adds. I used to prefer this app and used it religiously but now I’m going to have to switch to another alternative. Don’t waste ur time unless u want to pay
You have to be 18 and I only got the app because it said 4 and older
This use to be a good and useful app but they paywalled the option to scan in your food via barcodes
I’ve been trying to lose weight by fasting and do a better job of tracking my calories. I went ahead and got the lifetime premium version just so I could have the fasting timer and a few other features I really felt were worth it in my specific case. But my biggest complaint about the app is the fact that it doesn’t include a time stamp of WHEN I log things! I forgot to start my fast last night which is something that happens a lot with me. I log a meal, can’t decide if I’m going to have a snack later or not, so I don’t immediately start the fast when I’m done eating. Then I forget to start the fast when I do decide. I go back into the app, expecting my log to include a timestamp of WHEN I logged my last meal…. Only to realize that’s a feature, but it has to be MANUALLY added by me. Otherwise, it includes no timestamp. I get having a manual adjustment option - sometimes I log things well after I’ve eaten them, so the stamp would be wrong in that case and would need manual adjustment - but to just not log ANY time if I don’t remember to manually include it is the bane of my dieting life. PLEASE make this a feature! Any time a food is logged, it should be time stamped. Give me the option to manually adjust it, sure, but include SOMEthing when it’s entered. Even just an approximation would be better than nothing. Other dieting and fasting apps have this already. Besides that, this app has every feature I could ever hope to have when trying to keep track of calories and fasting. I think the premium is WELL worth the price, especially the lifetime premium. If you’re like me, you’re not just dieting, you’re trying to make a long-lasting lifestyle change, so just them offering a lifetime option is a real class move, imo.
Used to love this app but you can’t put 1 food in w/o being asked do you want premium! It used to be every now and again but now it’s every entry and if you say no, then you have to watch an ad EVERY TIME! It takes 5 mins to enter a meal watching ads. It’s become time consuming.
It is so rediculous that this app has so many adds! I used to love the app. It is the easiest and most organized to count my calorie intake and help reach my goals. I can’t even log one item without an add popping up. I think health and fitness is more important than a company being so money greedy. I hope you listen to the customer and change the adds.
It had been a nice, simple app for tracking one’s weight. The developers have ruined it with too many questions, options, etc.
3Apr2026
I got this app Hoping it would provide information to if you were avoiding certain foods.
I really love the congratulatory icons that pop up when you record you weight and have lost 5 pounds!
Free version is blocked after few days unless you pay
I have used this app off and on since 2017 and simply it’s the best one I have used out there!
I’ve been using this app for a while now and I swear by it! I send it to all my friends when the conversation around tracking come up. The user interface is simple and easy to adjust to and the $20/year is well worth the money! I’ve been on a cut now for a few months and this app truly is the saving grace! From calculating my calories to me having accountability and logging the shame meal. It’s accurate and definitely helped me lose my last 30+ lbs in my recent cut (bodybuilder) and I will never go back to the others!
Losing weight has been a life-long struggle. Lose It has helped me get a handle on it and be accountable to MYSELF. It’s easy to use. It’s easy to track. It’s invaluable to me.
I really enjoy this app. Easy to use and lots of great features. My only complaint is that it doesn’t sync on my Mac. It would be great to be able to log from both places.
If only they offered a monthly subscription and not just a yearly. Also it’s great that they offer a lifetime one-time-payment option but come on guys really? $200??? MAYBE at $100 I’d think about it. Wow
I previously used MyFitnessPal. Lose it! Is so much better. It is way easy to track food intake and has a much broader food selection base. The recipe section is easy to convert your favorite recipe into nutrient values. I like the water section and notes. Everything you need to track your food intake is all in one place.
Switched from MFP for the cheaper premium service and more refined and simpler UI. One quirk I’ve noticed is that some foods don’t have a weight option, like the almonds I tried to log yesterday. I’d also appreciate a dark mode or blackout theme for OLED panels like most other apps these days. Ideally it could theme the iPhone home screen widgets and app icon as well. Looking forward to using the app more going forward.
Hi, I had used to used lose it but then lost motivation to, I decided to start again and get premium to get better results and etc, but I canceled it a few minutes after realizing it was too confusing for me and it still charged my account for the subscription anyways.
I have been using this app for years and absolutely love it! Throughout the years they have added features that have really helped in changing my lifestyle. The features I use are the intermittent fasting creating and tracking recipes, my CGM numbers tracking water and sleep. It connects to my Apple Watch, so my exercise is tracked and I I think it’s connected to my aura ring which was a pleasant surprise. I really can’t say enough positive things about the Lose It! App
I love how this app connects with my watch. So far it’s working perfectly as far as expected weight loss. I’m sticking to my goals & it has been completely precise. I love the widget I can add to my phone, it makes it easier to remember to enter my meals when it’s got my and weekly calorie intake right on the front page of my phone every time I open it.
Lose it has been a great tool over the years to help me lose weight. I like the fact that when I fall off the wagon and stop counting I can still come back 6 months, a year or even two and all of my past data (my foods) are still there which makes it easy for me to start up again. I have built the database for years and it is always available.
I don’t like having ads on this app now. It didn’t use to. The ads for temu won’t let you exit out without sending you to their website. I just close the app now and reopen it, but I find it extremely annoying.
Doesn’t play well with Garmin.
I’ve been using this app for a month and I’ve seen weight loss. The only complaint is that they took away the barcode reader. For non-premium members. My wife had used this app in the past and she was able to use the barcode reader..
I have used other calorie tracking apps throughout the years and all of them were too time consuming and I never really stuck with them. This app has quite literally revolutionized calorie and macro tracking for me. I ended up paying for the lifetime premium because the food scan feature is SO helpful. If you have struggled with calorie tracking in the past, I’m telling you - this is the one to download!
So I’m an idiot and apparently don’t know how to use context clues to figure out what this app is for. So I’m writing this to make it clear to those who are like me: this app is only for those looking to LOSE weight.
This is the ONLY app I have found that lets you customize so much. Worth buying.
The app used to have a great balance of paid and free features. Now in order to even scan items to track you have to pay, even to add and track WATER! Yeah, no. Adding intrusive ads was enough for me. So long!
Use for logging food, but also to track the burning of calories. The app is not consistent with tracking of health/workout data. It’s disappointing that the software doesn’t meet the expectations given the significant investment made in it.
Since scanning foods is a paid feature, I would expect that the numbers are accurate, however, this isn’t the case, I have to double check every food, which takes time, making the scan feature kinda useless. Because of this, It would be great to be able to save favorite foods in advance so when I have to log them, is faster, however, there is no way to save favorite foods without actually logging them to one of todays meals.. Lastly, and this isn’t such a big deal, it would be great to have the option to see calories burned but don’t add them to the daily calorie budget (Apple watch)
I like this app. Thanks for this!
It’s too many questions just to start tracking your food. I lost 5lbs just with answering the questions alone. I don’t know if it’s a good app because the questions were just too much.
I use food tracker for weight loss everyday. I enjoy seeing my progress to ultimate fitness.
